Education and Training:

Gwen earned her Master’s of Education in School Counseling in 2022 from Western Washington University where she also completed her practicum in Clinical Mental Health Counseling

Work Experience:

With a background in teaching and counseling, Gwen has over a dozen years of experience working with children and adolescents in a range of capacities. Her background gives her a deep understanding of the issues kids and teens face. Her work in schools has given her the privilege of working with students from diverse backgrounds, dealing with issues of anxiety, depression, grief, and trauma. As a teacher, she worked with students to build interpersonal skills, work through challenges, and find resiliency. As a school counselor, she helped students with identity forming tasks like boosting self-esteem and finding personal strengths. As an LMHCA, she is dedicated to providing excellent care and working to improve child and adolescent mental health. 

Works With:

Gwen works with children, adolescents and their families. She is passionate about serving a diverse set of clients and ensuring equitable access to care.

Treatment Approach:

Gwen always works from a strength-based and person-centered approach that integrates trauma-focused, cognitive-behavioral, dialectical-behavioral, and other evidenced-based treatments. She works collaboratively with the client and family to determine which approach will work best for their needs and goals.
